The Year 2025
MAIN BUILDING HALL COMPLETE
2024 was spent completing the renewal of the outside hallway proven to last another 40+ years.
To keep up the maintenance of the resort, we took it upon ourselves to build a new hallway from the ground up. This required that we jackhammer the existing floor out and lay interlocking coated rebars as well as pouring into the new railings to act as supporting I-Beams for strength and endurance.
The first phase of the Restaurant renovation is also complete. We have installed a type of Nana Wall System sliding doors to section off a main part of the restaurant which in summer can be air-conditioned for functions. The next phase will include a designated Buffet area as well as a central outdoor bar.
We are hoping to start with some in room renovations for 2025/2026 but we have already exhausted our entire reserves for the hallway renewal and need to see what we can allocate for next years Reno Budget. We understand that we as well need to complete the same exercise to the back of the main building concerning the patios in the next year or two.
We will have to focus this upcoming year on the improvements to the resort that are of a long term benefit to our owners, such as fumigation treatments , rewiring and putting failsafes in outdated electric, dock maintenance, roof repairs just to name a few.

PLANS FOR 2026
Our plans for 2026 is maintenance in rooms, a few upgrades and building out the restaurant. Oceans Blue is getting a new bar area and buffet section to start working on making a Sunday Buffet area for our guests.

RESORT AND ISLAND NEWS
Celebration Key is on schedule with their soft summer opening for 2025 Celebration Cruise line port. It will not be open to the public at this time but is scheduled to provide 700 new job openings.
Six Senses Hotel and private ownership is still scheduled for ground breaking by the end of 2024 at Discovery Bay Beach and opens in 2026. It will be a $250M+ development on a 50-acre resort community with 70 resort villas and 28 branded residences with focus on sustainability, resilience, and wellness.
WesternAir Bahamas has started providing new daily flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Freeport at about $300 round trip leaving at 9:30 am from FLL. Flights depart FPO at 11am.

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOU HAVE BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND JANUARY 1ST TO PAY YOUR OCEAN REEF MAINTENANCE FEES.
